Iodine Insufficiency as it relates to causing Cancer

It’s great when doctors ‘think outside the box’ and work to teach others what they’ve learned through their medical practice, especially when it comes to cancer. This is the case with Dr. Jorge D Flechas MD, with whom spreading the word about iodine sufficiency as it relates to of total body health has been his mission. His direct approach when speaking to the medical community about the effectiveness utilizing iodine for preventing & treating cancers is exemplified in this short video clip. Many symptoms of Iodine deficiency can include: thyroidism including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, goitre, Graves Disease, Hashimoto’s disease, Fibromylagia, Cystic conditions in the breasts & ovaries, cold hand & feet, weight gain, fatigue, dry skin, Hypohydrosis(difficulty sweating), hair loss, brain fog, migraines, insomnia, tingling in hands and feet, muscle pain, edema, elevated cholesterol & more...

Dr. Flechas is part of the Iodine Group of Doctors, an organization founded by Dr. Guy Abraham in 1998, after reading the Ghent-Eskin study done in the late 1980’s in Kingston, Ontario, Canada about Fibrocystic Breast Disease and their success in treating the condition with iodine therapy. What Dr Abraham uncovered was a long history of use within the medical community from the early 1800’ through till the 1950’s, when Big Pharma began it’s influence over the medical education of our doctors. It was so widely utilized by doctors it was widely considered a pancea or Universal Medicine for many conditions that resisted standardized treatment at the time.
“In the first flush of enthusiasm for the newcomer, physicians and surgeons tested it and tried it for every conceivable pathological condition. The variety of diseases for which iodine was prescribed in the early years is astonishing — paralysis, chorea, scrofula, lacrimal fistula, deafness, distortions of the spine, hip-joint disease, syphilis, acute inflammation, gout, gangrene, dropsy, carbuncles, whitlow, chilblains, burns, scalds, lupus, croup, catarrh, asthma, ulcers, and bronchitis — to mention only a few.

Dr. Flechas suggests that the common thinking needs to be re-thunk when in comes to a widespread Iodine deficiency that is being experienced across the US & Canada today. Most doctors are taught in medical school that Iodine deficiency is a thing of the past, that was corrected with iodized salt or a problem with other countries. Dr. Flechas links the de-mineralization of our soils with modern GMO farming techniques that do nothing to remineralize the vacant soil and hence leave our food minerally deficient. Adding insult to injury, we purge the iodine that is stored in our bodies with the competing Halogens of Fluorine, Chlorine & Bromine that are added to our drinking water, our swimming pools, hot tubs, fast-food, soda & more that leach the iodine from our bodies thereby depleting our immune system. We are supposed to get our iodine from our food, like the Japanese & Koreans do with eating enough brown kelp daily to receive 12.5mg to 50mg of iodine daily. And because of this ancient practice of eating ocean vegetables, they have the lowest rates of reproductive cancers in the world.

From Dr. Flechas website I quote, “In those areas of the world where iodine deficiency is very high, such as in Switzerland and in certain areas of Asia and Africa, there are also higher incidents of thyroid cancer. Iodine is also concentrated by breast tissue, and a lack of iodine in the breasts manifests as fibrocystic breast disease (painful breasts with nodules and cysts and often more symptomatic prior to menstrual periods). 93% of American women have fibrocystic breast disease and the longer this disease exists, the higher the potential risk for development of breast cancer. 20% of all iodine in the human body is stored in the skin, specifically in the sweat glands. Lack of iodine in the sweat glands manifests as dry skin with a decreased ability to sweat. Iodine can also be concentrated in the stomach tissue, and the lack of iodine in the stomach manifests as achlorhydria (lack of digestive acid production). Iodine is used by the stomach cells, also known as parietal cells, to concentrate chloride which is necessary to produce hydrochloric acid (digestive acid). With the prolonged presence of achlorhydria, there is a much higher incidence of stomach cancer. Iodine is concentrated in the lacrymal glands of the eye, and a lack of iodine can cause dry eyes. Iodine can also be concentrated in the parotid and submandibular glands of the mouth, and iodine deficiency here can result in dry mouth. Iodine can be concentrated in the ovaries, and Russian studies done some years ago showed a relationship between iodine deficiency and the presence of cysts in the ovaries. The greater the iodine deficiency, the more ovarian cysts a woman produces. In its extreme form, this condition is known as polycystic ovarian disease.”

  1. Bovine supplements are very effective thyroid supplements. Bovine takes a secondary approach to hormone production and weight loss. It gives your thyroid a boost of the thyroid needed nutrients.
